Makes some people feel better about their intellect to put down others every chance they get. Obviously not a stupid question since she didn't know what it meant but had the desire to learn. Asking questions is how you learn! BTW, IT'S HUMP DAY!

really I mean have you been living under a rock? this saying is as old as the hills!!! Wednesday is hump day as in your going over the hump from Monday and Tuesday to Thursday and Friday and as explained earlier Camels have Humps ie the Camel is celebrating Hump day

Your explanation sucks and is rude. My family were immigrants and so were most of their friends. I didn't learn about hump day until I was in my late twenties. I had never heard it before. A simple explanation: Wednesday is the middle of the week. It gets easier (downhill) as you get closer to Friday. Up hill (hump) till Wednesday then down hill (hump). Oh, "you're" is the contraction for 'you are', wise guy.

Erin great explanation! :)

Well I won't offend Patrick and call anyone stupid for trying to learn....but I'm pretty sure my two yr old daughter knows that it means "mid week, over the hump of the week". I thought anyone who has ever had a job in their lifetime would have heard that term from a co-worker or customer. Just sayin'.

SAM S - - - To actually ANSWER the question that You asked-- since the majority of us KNOW Wednesday has always been referred to as "Hump Day", the middle of the work week to get over to head to the weekend....HERE'S YOUR ANSWER.......... "Happier than a camel On Wednesday" refers to the fact that Camels...the animal..Not the cigarette .. Have at least ONE HUMP ON THEIR BACK ! It's where they store the water they take in...so they can go miles and miles thru a desert without having to stop for Water along the way...because in the desert, water is very hard to find. SO.....That's why a Camel With Humps loves HUMP DAY......It's simply a "Play On Words"...That's all. And an excellent commercial that accomplished getting GEICO'S name recognition out there in a memorable way.

HUMP DAY is Wednesday-middle of the week. You get through Wednesday and your over the hump closer to the weekend. I believed the term started by truck drivers.

Geico commercials are unexplainable and are made to dumb down the population.

The peak of the middle of the work week is considered hump day because once you work Wednesday you're over the hump of the work week and a bit closer to the weekend.

Wednesday is the middle if the week and since most people get laid on the weekend we scream "it's Hump Day" to get some earlier.
