Weave Fail

Fellas, ask your girl to remove her weave right now in front of you. You have to discover the truth.

I'll tell you why this really happens in steps.

1. She chemically treats the hair (relaxer weakens the hair). 2. A super hot iron is used to straighten the hair after the chemical process. 3. The hair is then tightly braided to prepare it for weaving but hair line is left unbraided to blend in with the weave. 4. Once the weave has been sown in a track has been glued into the hair line to give it more of a flat finish. 5. Everyday this girl must use a hot iron to straighten her hair line to blend in with the weave, weakening her hair line which then causes that area to thin out. 6. Everyday she tugs and sleeps on the glued area of her weave causing the hair to rip from the roots gradually. 7. She repeats all the above every 6-8 weeks when her weave looks rough until one day the baldness gets to this point.

I love my afro. Keep it simple ladies.

Ecllipse DeLoach I used to have natural hair but always wore weaves or wigs cause natural straightening damaged my hair as well. It was hard to try and keep it healthy, I have gone back to relaxers..Biggest mistake ever. Could I get some pointers on transitioning back to my natural hair and ways to keep it healthy without braids or weaves??

wearing braids all the time will cause this to happen also! I'm natural now also, haven't had a relaxer in over 9 months and I cut the rest off!

I am soooo glad I stopped using weave and perms back in 06..my hair is, natural, healthy very happy now.. some people need the weave :)

That looks like the classic relaxer cut. Over-processed and overlapping consistently.What little hair she has has been fried, dyed, and laid to the side. Traction alopecia starts from the front and works it's way back, she still has new growth in the outer edges mixed with perm fuzz. I'm texlaxed, it's all about taking care of your hair and not relaxing it every four weeks.

you right ^^^ not every black woman head look like this, it just seem like alot of people wearing this glued in weave that mess up they hairline, then they stuck wearing it to cover it up. If they just stop braiding it too tight at the edges and stop the glue, I think weave can be worn best sewn in without chemically straightening the natural hair.

I don't think she means that everyone should wear a weave, but a whole lot of women that wear hair religiously (like myself) are suffering permanent hair loss. I was one of the lucky ones, but I still have a spot here to there from ripping my natural hair out. I got buck shots like a mug under this sew in so it doesn't get to that.

I am sooo happy I am natural. Even if you put sew-ins in the fact that you are relaxing your hair and straightening it at the same time is WILL damage your hair. My hair grows so much better after I went natural!

I have natural hair and i use weave only as a protective style when im being lazy witch is not to often but naomi camblle has this problem also my gosh i never ever want this to hsppen to me glad i switched to my natural rock my sexy hair! Lol no bueno

Who said anything was wrong? I don't think Beyonce, Allyiah and countless other female stars (no matter the race) thought anything was wrong with their hair. They may like the styles and didn't or couldn't achieve it with their own length or thickness or color.

This IS why weaves should be banned unless you wear weave on a wig that can come on and off without pulling your hair/jacking up your hairline!

Quite honestly, it really doesn't matter what your real hair looks like. Let's be for real. Weave ain't going NO WHERE. So if it looks goon on you, just make sure you can always afford to buy it and have someone put it in.
