Now ya'll are gettin' too picky! LOL My mom said that's how her and my aunt used to straighten their hair back in the day. ;)

That is very true. Every time this site shows a ironing hair photo, almost every one comments on how it's old school.

why does one of them have on the bottom and the other have on the top of a matching animal skin...and flat irons are not that expensive...lol.

No more than a flat iron would. Irons have heat control too. Also, she's not pulling on her hair to cause breakage...this might actually be less abrasive to her hair.
