Wowww! Many itchez don't know this, but child support is actually to support the child. I know, I know; it's a shock to many of you, but its true.

We have to wait and see if she uses it as she's supposed to. Then we judge from there.

Because God forbid the father pay ANYTHING, right? The amount they have to pay compared to what it costs is pitiful, and to top it off, sometimes it is a big deal when they do pay because THEY NEVER EVER PAY ON TIME IF AT ALL. Stop defending these guys who aren't responsible. At the end of the day, SHE is the one with the kids, she is doing all the work, all the stress, spending all her money...child support is not a windfall, it's just a little bit of help. You're all pathetic.

After all the social programs involved in helping raise a child financially the support amounts orderd by courts are ridiculous. Show me one mother like here who spends the SAME amount ON THE CHILD each month that's EQUAL to the amount the father has been ordered to pay in "support" OF THE CHILD! Do Tiger Woods Kids have all $30,000/month spent on them? you disgust me!

Who said she is getting any social service benefits? I don't, nor do I receive child support for my two kids, but I sure do get my paycheck and spend it on the kids. I could save $300/month on rent for a nice studio compared to my 2 bedroom. Not to mention the added groceries I have to buy for my kids to eat, the childcare I pay for them so I can go to work, the school fees, trips, supplies, money for the little programs they want to be involved in, the few hundred $ of added insurance for a family plan versus single, The money for them to go places, my car expenses since it would be almost impossible to do all of what I do daily on public transit. (I tried before and the morning and evening commutes are 3 hrs each, not including middle of the day trips) The time I take from work to transport them between school and daycare (on two different schedules), because I can't afford the additional $75/wk per child for the daycare to transport them. My ex-husband has another child he has been ordered to pay support for at a whopping $100/month. He gets paid by personal check so his income can't be proven, beyond the "odd jobs" he informed the court he does.
My point? Each situation is highly unique so unless you know hers, all you are doing is showing you have preconceived ideas about the type of people that receive child support.

Rose Glenn well fucking said!!!!!!!!!!!! as a mother of four myself i cant totally feel you. i am fortunate enough to not be a single parent, but even in a two parent household, things can get tough and tight. i know too many women who are dealing with child support drama with the child's father and then have to turn around and deal with sterotyping and drama from the public.

you have to give everybody the benefit of the doubt.maybe shes happy because before the check came in, she had to spend her own money for things that her child needs and now that shes getting her child support money, she can save HER own money to do the things that she wanted to do and use the child support on her kid.Despite what people think, as a mother you spend money on your child. Is your kid walking aroung naked? No.So you bought them clothes. Is he hungry? No because you bought him food.Does the child have shoes in their feet, a backpack to wear to school? Yes.So the mother bought it.Lets give our single mothers SOME credit instead of bashing them.

I agree with you, but that tweet she made, is a thought she should have kept to herself, or only share with those who know her. It paints the wrong image. You know as we'll as I do, there're those out here who take advantage, and those people, are the ones who makes statements like that. It wasn't a smart thought to make publicly.
September 27, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Looking at the tweet it does seem to have a negative connotation but it you want to get technical, she said "I seee money" and she didnt actually say what she would spend the money ON.We just assume it will be spent on things for her but perhaps shes happy shes gettin paid so that she can buy things for her child. We cant always think the worse of people.

Let me guess. Her mother or grandmother is actually raising the child.
